SURFACE PREPARATION

Concrete floors shall be captive blasted or scarified to achieve suitable surface profile followed by thorough vacuum cleaning.

Remove cement laitance, loose particles and other contaminants from surface by mechanical method preferably stone grinding and followed by thorough vacuuming. All residues must be removed to provide a dry, dust free open textured surface.

Difficult areas whereby blasting or scarifying machine cannot reach like beneath machines and parameter butting to walls use hand held tools to prepare surface. All blowholes, cracks and other surface imperfections shall be repaired with prior epoxy grout (Primer, primer SF, EPW….) before application.

SUBSTRATE REQUIREMENTS

  • New concrete must be cured for at least 28 days prior to top surface preparation.
  • Minimum compressive strength: above 25N/mm&sup2<>
  • Must be free from rising damp.
  • Moisture should be less than 4% (using Tramex Tester)
